RME Sign plain-language terms
Version 1.1, 29 October 2026. Short sentences, small words. If anything here is unclear, ask us.
These terms cover your use of RME Sign, our e-signing service. By using RME Sign, you agree to them.
1. Who provides it
RME Sign is provided by RME Solutions Technology, ABN 94 037 705 984, of New South Wales, Australia. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean RME Solutions Technology.
2. The software
RME Sign runs on Documenso Community Edition. It is open-source software, licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0). We run it unmodified. You can read the source code on GitHub, and learn more at documenso.com.
Documenso has confirmed we may host the unmodified Community Edition for our clients.
3. Support
Support for RME Sign comes from us, not from Documenso. Documenso gives no warranty or support for this service. Please don’t contact Documenso about RME Sign; contact us.
We don’t use Documenso Enterprise features. Signing emails are sent from RME’s own address. We don’t offer custom sending domains.
4. What we do
- Host RME Sign for you.
- Keep it running.
- Apply updates and security patches.
- Back it up.
5. What we don’t promise
- We don’t guarantee uptime. The service may sometimes be unavailable.
- We don’t guarantee that a signed document is legally effective for your purpose. That depends on the document and the law that applies to it.
6. Your documents
- Live documents are kept in Microsoft Azure Australia East (New South Wales). Encrypted backup copies are kept in Cloudflare R2 (Oceania region).
- Invitation and notice emails are sent through Microsoft 365.
- Cloudflare’s global network sits in front of the service.
- Your documents are yours. We don’t sell them, and we don’t use them for anything else.
- Only RME administrators can access them, and only for support or legal reasons.
Our Privacy Policy also applies.
7. Keeping records
- You can download your signed documents and the audit certificate at any time.
- Keep your own copies for as long as the law requires.
- We keep your documents while your account is active.
8. What it isn’t for
Don’t use RME Sign for:
- wills
- powers of attorney
- land transfers
- statutory declarations
- anything that must be witnessed in person.
9. Not legal advice
Nothing on our website or in RME Sign is legal advice. If you’re not sure whether a document can be signed electronically, ask a lawyer.
10. Acceptable use
- Use RME Sign only for lawful purposes.
- Don’t use it to send spam.
- Don’t pretend to be someone else, or ask someone to sign in another person’s name.
